Arab Nubia Group Announces Mega Remote Sensing Project for the Arabian Nubian Shield

Cairo, Egypt – December 2025Arab Nubia Group, in cooperation with its subsidiary Arab Prospectors Company, proudly unveils a groundbreaking remote sensing initiative targeting the Arabian Nubian Shield exposures across Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

This mega project harnesses open-source multispectral and hyperspectral imagery to produce innovative geological basemaps. Designed to deliver cutting-edge value for mineral exploration, the project marks a major step forward in advancing geoscientific research and resource development in the region.

Prototype Achievements

  • Processed +200 Sentinel-2 multispectral scenes acquired in July–August 2025.
  • Coverage: Arabian Nubian Shield exposures in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
  • + 3 TB of processed data.
  • Generated products include True and Pseudo color composites, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of Visible, Near-Infrared (NIR), and Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) bands.
  • Results demonstrate powerful visualization tools for geological interpretation and exploration.

Open Access for Researchers & Academics

To foster knowledge sharing, Arab Nubia Group will publish selected products free of charge for non-commercial and academic purposes. These datasets will be available exclusively through the Arab Nubia Group Blog, with downloads accessible to registered users.
